Putting An Area Rug On Top Of An Already Carpeted Floor?

Many questions regarding rug style techniques arise when improving your home. One such question concerns putting an area rug on top of carpet. Some people may think that placing a rug on top of carpet is redundant, while others may think an added rug sets a different tone to an otherwise solid floor color. Others may think a rug works as a design element giving character to a room while at the same time providing warmth.

Therefore, adding rugs, despite having a carpeted floor, is a good choice in terms of designing your home. Most carpets are either plain or dull in color taking away any ambiance in a room. However, with combination of rugs, there would be more life and energy coming into your home. Whilst adding any rugs as essential statement pieces in your home you should keep in mind though the recommended industry standards on dimensions and spatial placement of rugs. For example, a decent border size of other flooring (or in this case carpeting) between the rug and the walls is important just as is the placement of the furniture on the rug (usually the front legs of the sofa or chair).
